Eerie Nostalgia

Eerie Nostalgia represents the obscure themes found between the lines in beloved children’s books.

For this project, I designed book covers for three separate books. This project aimed at uncovering and developing my style. I had to keep my color palette to a maximum of four colors, the images used had to be my creations, and lastly, all three jackets had to look unified by graphic style and design elements.

The first step in my process was conceptualization. I started researching and summarizing the essence of each book into one idea, and then I started sketching. The second step was graphic representation. How the antagonists attempt to allure the protagonists inspired me. The enticing interplay of textures, the vibrant splash of colors, and the intriguing dance of shapes all hint at a suspicion of hidden danger
